Chapter 8
Christ as the Pattern of Endurance
1 Let us therefore hold fast without ceasing to our hope and to the pledge of our righteousness, who is Christ Jesus, who bore our sins in his own body on the tree, who committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth; but for our sake, so that we might live in him, he endured all things.
2 Let us therefore become imitators of his endurance, and if we suffer for his name, let us glorify him. For he set this pattern before us through himself, and we have believed in this.[1]
