Chapter 2

The Second Commandment of the Teaching

1 And the second commandment of the teaching is this:

2 You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not corrupt children, you shall not commit fornication, you shall not steal, you shall not practice magic, you shall not use sorcery, you shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill one who has been born, you shall not desire the things of your neighbor.

3 You shall not swear falsely, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not speak evil, you shall not hold a grudge.

4 You shall not be double-minded nor double-tongued, for double-tonguedness is a snare of death.

5 Your word shall not be false or empty, but fulfilled by action.

6 You shall not be greedy or rapacious or a hypocrite or malicious or arrogant. You shall not devise an evil plan against your neighbor.

7 You shall not hate any human being, but some you shall rebuke, for others you shall pray, and others you shall love more than your own soul.
