Chapter 138
1 He says, then: “And it shall be restored, and street and wall shall be built.” And so it actually came to pass; for the people, having returned, built the city and the temple and its wall round about.
2 Then he says: “After the sixty-two weeks the times shall be emptied out, and he shall establish a covenant with many for one week; and in the midst of the week sacrifice and libation shall be taken away, and upon the temple the abomination of desolations.”
3 For when the sixty-two weeks have been fulfilled, and Christ has come, and the gospel has been preached in every place, and the times have been emptied out, one week, the last, shall be left, in which Elijah and Enoch shall be present; and in the midst of it the abomination of desolation shall appear—the Antichrist—announcing desolation to the world; and at his coming the sacrifice and libation shall be taken away which is now offered to God in every place by the nations.
