The Book of Jubilees, by an anonymous author, retells Genesis and the opening of Exodus as a revelation delivered on Mount Sinai, dividing sacred history into jubilee periods with a solar calendar and rigorous law-observance.
Preserved fully in Ge'ez and valued at Qumran, it illuminates the legal and calendrical debates of Second Temple Judaism behind the New Testament era.
