To bless in or through someone or something; to confer blessing upon. In the LXX it translates Hebrew בָּרַךְ in the Niphal/Hithpael in key covenantal promises that through a chosen figure or seed all the nations or families of the earth will be blessed (e.g. Gen 12:3; 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14; Ps 71:17; Sir 44:21).
