Peter the Cardinal Proposes a Common Liturgy
1 Peter the most reverent presbyter and cardinal said: Since by the grace of God all stumbling-blocks have been removed from the midst, and the truth, [now exalted], has become more radiant, and the Church has been illumined in the light of God, having received back peace and concord—and since the assembly ought to be filled out also with the sacred sacred-rite, and it seems good to your holiness—let us all, gathered together [as] the priestly assemblies of our [order], fulfill with Photios the most holy patriarch the sacred and divine liturgy and the holy mysteries. The holy synod said: Good things are acceptable to God. We rejoice also at your word. May God protect our lord the holy [emperor], and prolong his days unto the salvation of his Church; many years to the emperor.
