198. The Betrayal of Judas. Mt. 26:14–16; Mk. 14:10, 11; Lk. 22:3–6

Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And he went to the chief priests and officers to betray the Lord Jesus, and said to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver Him to you?

Hearing this, they were glad, and agreed to give him money, and offered him thirty pieces of silver. And he agreed. And from that time he sought an opportunity to betray Him to them away from the crowd.
