211. The Departure to Gethsemane. Jn. 14:31; 18, 1; Lk. 22:39; Mt. 26:30–35; Mk. 14:26–31
Having said this, the Lord repeated: Rise, let us go from here. And, having sung a hymn, He went out with His disciples, and went as was His custom to the other side of the brook Kidron to the Mount of Olives. His disciples followed Him.
On the way the Lord says to them: All of you will fall away because of Me this night; for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered (Zech. 13:7). But after My resurrection, I will go before you to Galilee.
Peter answered Him and said: Even if all fall away because of You, I will not; I will never fall away. The Lord Jesus said to him: Truly I say to you, that you, this night, before the cock crows twice, you will deny Me three times. But Peter said to Him with even more vehemence: Even if I must die with You, I will not deny You. And all the disciples said the same or similar things.
