89. The Return of the Apostles. And Withdrawal Into the Wilderness of Bethsaida. Mt. 14:13; Mk. 6:30–33; Lk. 9:10–11

The Apostles, having returned, gathered to the Lord Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. He said to them: Come away by yourselves into a deserted place and rest a little while. For there were many coming and going, so that they had no leisure even to eat. Then, hearing of Herod’s desire to see Him, the Lord also resolved to withdraw; and, taking the Apostles with Him, He withdrew to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, into a deserted place near the city called Bethsaida.

And they departed into that deserted place by boat alone. But the people saw them departing, many recognized them; and they ran there on foot from all the cities and got ahead of them and gathered to Him. Thus a great multitude followed the Lord, because they saw the miracles which He wrought upon the sick.
