The Goal of Prayer – to Warm the Heart With Love for God

What should you strive to achieve through prayer? That your heart might grow warm with love for God and that the feeling toward God might not depart from you. For this purpose the Jesus Prayer is appointed: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” Repeat this prayer frequently and reach the habit, so that your tongue repeats it of itself.
