Some Forget the Cry From the Heart and Are Empty of Grace

I argue against those who completely forget about the cry from the heart… Their whole concern is with words and bodily posture, and, having recited a certain number of Jesus Prayers in this posture with prostrations, they rest on this with a kind of self-conceit and condemn those who go to church for the common liturgical prayer. Some live their whole life this way and are empty of grace. (10, 189–190)
