The Path to a Prayerful State

All our relationships to God are marked by prayer. Everything, therefore, depends on prayer. Press on toward it.

Prayer is not only standing in prayer. Holding your mind and heart turned and directed toward God—this is already prayer, whatever posture you may be in. Your prayer rule goes one way, and this prayerful state goes another. The path to it is becoming accustomed always to remember God and the last hour, with Judgment following it. Order yourself thus and everything will go well. It means dedicating each inward step to God. And you must direct your steps according to the commandments. You know them. That is all! You can fit every situation under a commandment and inwardly dedicate to God what you do in it. So your entire life will be dedicated to God. What more is required? Nothing. You see how simple it is.
