Chapter 164

The Vestibule to Prayer

You did well to think of applying yourself properly to the Jesus Prayer. Zeal and labor will overcome all. Pray to the Lord that He help you in this. You yourself, through your labors, can only become accustomed to repeating this prayer ceaselessly. But the Lord will implant it in the very heart. This latter is the chief work, while the first is only the vestibule.
