On the Jesus Prayer and its Spiritual Action

^48.2.1 May the Lord bless you, and grant that Holy Communion may be for you a communion in all spiritual goods! As you prepared by replacing the church services with prostrations and the Jesus Prayer, that’s good... You can do this every day—not just as preparation for Holy Communion, but as a feasible fulfillment of God’s commandment about unceasing prayer—with zeal and a warm disposition toward this practice. The Jesus Prayer strengthens good dispositions, and disperses and suppresses the evil suggestions of bad thoughts and passionate movements. May the Lord bless you in practicing this... This is truly spiritual practice when it is done as it should be. Labor on, don’t be lazy.
