Chapter 123
1 These things befall ignorant and frivolous people, all those who do not attend carefully to the Scriptures, but are rather pleased to be persuaded by human traditions and by their own errors and by their own dreams and fables and old wives’ tales.
2 For the like befell the sons of Israel too: despising and setting aside the law of God, they subjected themselves in compliance with the traditions of the elders.
3 And now too some dare to do the like, attending to vain visions and to teachings of demons, and often appointing a fast on the Sabbath and on the Lord’s Day, which Christ did not appoint, so that they dishonor the gospel of Christ.
