Chapter 43
Nebuchadnezzar, then, astonished at the things said by Daniel, declared: “In truth your God is himself God of gods and Lord of those who rule, and the revealer of mysteries, since you were able to reveal this mystery.” And the king magnified Daniel, and gave him many great gifts, and set him over all the province of Babylon, as ruler of the satraps, over all the wise men of Babylon.
For since he had made himself small and had declared himself to be the least of all men, the king for that reason exalted him and set him as ruler of all the province of Babylon.
This was the same way that Pharaoh too acted toward Joseph, when he set him as ruler over all the land of Egypt.
For in all Egypt no man was found able to report the visions to Pharaoh, except Joseph alone; and in Babylon none of the wise men was able to declare the vision to the king, except Daniel alone.
For generation after generation God brings holy men to himself, since he must be glorified in all the world.
