Prokopios on the Subjection of the Nations

¹ Prokopios the most God-beloved archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia said: We hope in the compassion of God, and in the holy prayer of our master and hierarch, that all the nations shall be subjected to the august might of our God-appointed and great emperors; and then, ⟦whenever⟧, as their most mighty majesty bids, things are duly ordered, and there is rendered to each his own dioceses uncurtailed, by the synod which from time to time gives its vote, even as the divine counsel may guide them.
