Commonitorium, Chapter 4

¹ Chapter 4. Inasmuch as the emperor has sent word that, for the peace of the Church, we should receive the most holy patriarch Photios as our brother and fellow-minister, we have hearkened to your petition, and we command that he come before you into the synod, and that the whole Church receive him according to the disposition of our letters; and you also shall receive him as one in communion and a fellow-minister, that he may offer thanksgiving and sincerity to the Church of the Romans.
