When Prayer Does Not Go Well

What should you do when prayer doesn’t come to mind? If it’s a prayer said at home, then you can put it aside for a little while—for a few minutes. If it still doesn’t come, force yourself to carry out your prayer rule forcefully, straining to understand what is being said and to feel it. It’s like how a child who doesn’t want to bow is taken by the hair and bent down.
