Carnal Excitation Must Be Cut Off Immediately

That which was carnal excitation is very bad. This can be a chance occurrence; but one should not allow it, but must cut it off immediately... Otherwise the matter, instead of spiritual, will turn out to be sensual and will bear an evil fruit instead of good. Read in the Philokalia about this, and especially about how to hold attention.
