Mere Repetition of the Jesus Prayer Words Means Nothing

The Jesus Prayer is not some kind of charm. Its power comes from faith in the Lord and a deep unity of the heart and mind with Him. With such dispositions, the name of the Lord called upon is manifested as exceedingly powerful. Mere repetition of the words means nothing. (16, 133)
