Chapter 125

The Lord is Near and Even in the Heart

What should be sought? Living, tangible communion with the Lord. Divine grace gives this, but we ourselves must also labor for it. Where then should we direct our labor? To always remembering the Lord, that He is near and even present in the heart... The first labor is the habit of repeating the Jesus Prayer unceasingly... And begin, keep saying it and saying it, but always with the mind on the Lord. And that is all... (10, 164–165)
