True Warmth and Natural Warmth
True warmth is a gift of God; but there is also natural warmth, the fruit of one’s own efforts and inclinations. They stand apart from each other as heaven from earth... The first fruit of God’s warmth is the gathering of thoughts into one and their unwavering direction toward God. Here happens what happened with the woman with the hemorrhage. With her—a flow of blood... and here the flow of thoughts stops. (7, 181)
