Monday (36th Week) (3 Jn. 1:1–15; Lk. 19:29–40; 22:7–39)
What does it mean to ”walk in the truth” (3 Jn. 1:3–4)? It means, having received the truth into one’s heart, to conduct oneself in thought and feeling exactly as the truth requires. Thus, that God is everywhere and sees all things—this is truth. Whoever receives this truth into the heart and begins to conduct himself—both inwardly and outwardly—as though God Himself were present before him and saw everything within him, that person will walk in this truth. That God sustains all things, and that without Him we can accomplish nothing successfully—this is truth. Whoever receives it into the heart and begins in everything he does to turn to God in prayer for help, and to accept everything that happens to him as from the hand of the Lord, will walk in this truth. That death can seize us at any hour, and after death judgment follows immediately—this is truth. Whoever receives this truth into the heart and begins to live accordingly will walk in this truth. And so it is with every other truth.
