Subscription of Elias, Legate of Jerusalem
1 I, Elias, by the mercy of God monk, presbyter, and legate of the holy Church of God of Jerusalem, agreeing with this holy and ecumenical synod—or rather, holding this view even before it—accept Photios the most holy hierarch of God as lawful and canonically established patriarch, just as Theodosius the patriarch of Jerusalem who is among the saints accepted him, and his successor Elias the most holy patriarch of the same hierarchy, and the remaining hierarchical thrones. And those who do not accept him as we do, or who dare to break off in schism against him, I anathematize and turn away from; and all the things constituted against him in any place whatsoever and by any person whatsoever, I subject to the same anathema. Moreover, proclaiming the council that convened at Nicaea the second time against the iconoclasts as a holy and ecumenical Seventh Council, I have signed with my own hand.
