The Imperceptibility of Progress

When it takes root in the heart, there are no breaks within, but all one continuous thing... How does it take root?! Who knows how? Yet it does take root. The one laboring perceives this, not knowing how it came to pass. Labor... walking in the presence of God with frequent, as much as possible, repetition of this prayer. Whenever there is free time — at once to it… And it will be given... (10, 49)
